Response to Alberta Government's Limit on Devices in Schools

Livingstone Range School Division acknowledges the announcement from the Minister of Education on June 17, 2024, regarding restrictions on personal mobile devices and social media in schools. 

As a Division, we have consistently promoted the responsible use of technology within our educational environments. We recognize the challenges and complexities associated with student personal electronic devices and social media usage, both inside and outside of the classroom.

The Board of Trustees is currently reviewing existing policies concerning personal mobile devices in our schools. In the coming months, we will gather further details about the Minister's announcement and develop appropriate policies and procedures to enact these new requirements in our schools.

We are committed to working closely with Alberta Education, our students, staff, parents/guardians, and school communities as we implement these changes. Together, we aim to ensure the best outcomes for 'Every student, every day'.
