Mr. Vaughan Henning
Vaughan was raised in Calgary, and spent his high school years playing in wind ensembles and jazz bands. The strong sense of community, varied performances, and level of achievement accomplished inspired him to pursue music education.
During his time at the University of Lethbridge Vaughan played in numerous ensembles, developing strengths in solo performance, wind orchestra, jazz ensembles, musical theatre, chamber music, and pop/rock groups. In 2014 he entered the Faculty of Education, majoring in Music and minoring in Social Studies. The highlights of this program included a strong focus on conducting and ensemble direction, appropriate musical assessment, and philosophy of technology integration in classrooms.
Vaughan is currently involved in musical endeavours including Southern Winds Orchestra, teaches private music lessons, and spent part of the 2017-18 school year at Catholic Central High School teaching Instrumental Music. He is an avid board game and D&D enthusiast, and is trying his hand at gardening. He is excited to work on the JT Foster team especially in regards to developing the bands, both in ability and as an important aspect of the school community, and the community of Nanton.
