In the fall of 2013, a group of students and staff members formed a committee called "Climate Committee", whose initiative was to create a positive school climate where:
all students feel comfortable, wanted, valued, accepted and secure in an environment where they can interact with caring people they trust. A positive school climate affects everyone associated with the school - students, staff, parents and the community. It is the belief system or culture that underlies the day-to-day operation of a school.
The committee, who now call themselves, "Project Respect" meets once a month and their goal is to improve school climate. Projects such as "Breakfast for Learning", providing snacks for Advisory Groups and promoting multiculturalism are ongoing.
The staff liason for this group is Brenda Schlaht who can be reached at by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling the school at (403) 646-2264.
